Sammamish Community
YMCA
Website redesign to offer an easy, time-efficient way for local people to find classes, get information, join in activities and connect well with the community.
Introduction
The Sammamish Community YMCA is a branch of the Great Seattle YMCA, which is a membership organization offering programs and services to nurture the young, promote healthy living, and connect communities. Its website aims to offer information and services online to all the local people who are interested in it.
User Research
In order to better understand its users and find their problems and needs, I conducted several interviews and watched their usage process. After analyzing their answers, I found they have some pain points when using this website.

Pain Points

Web Structure
“When I am browsing this website to look for a class that I can join, I need to choose this location every time when I change a different kind of class. That waste a lot of time.”
"
Navigation System
“It shares global navigations with other locations, but its own secondary navigations are not enough to choose.”

“When you go somewhere, you can hardly come back to the home page of Sammamish YMCA.”
"
Content Display
“The filters for all activities schedule don’t have groups, I have to drop down a long list to search for a specific class. That annoy me a lot.”

"I can only see the daily schedule, but I also would like to know the monthly schedule of classes or rooms.”
"
From these pain points of users, we can find that the problems mainly focus on web structure, navigation system, and content display which cause users confusion and spend much time.
Solution and Goals
Our solution should redesign this website to offer an easy, time-efficient way for Sammamish local people to find classes, get information, join in activities and connect well with the community. This redesign will mainly focus on integrating information, managing navigations, and optimizing some of the main pages.
Tone: Since this is a redesign project, the fonts and colors will not change.
